Here are some tips to keep in mind when designing your kitchen Island:
1.Overhang Supports
The materials that you use affect your decision on the overhangs. Always consider the materials you’re using and the standards they require.
Using natural stone countertops leads to limitations in overhangs. A standard for overhangs is up to 12 inches for most quartz countertops and 9 inches for natural stone, both without any support.
If you want a deeper overhang, you’ll need a support for it.
You can choose a column-styled island which in you have columns running on both ends of the island’s deeper back. The overhang here has additional support on the sides and along the back.
Another way of having a support is an island constructed with two posts; some trim material goes in between the posts and steel supports.
 The easiest and most standard way of providing a support is having corbels which are mostly used in traditional kitchen styles.
2.Island Height
